My last blog post for Memories of Fiction was just over a year ago, and reported that our bid for a follow-on project, Living Libraries, was successful. So we got very busy with new oral histories from the summer of 2019 to early 2020, all about public libraries across the UK. Due to the pandemic, we then shifted our planned talks and sound trails to online outputs, including soundscape collages, an audio documentary, a policy pack, and a virtual library, finishing up with a takeover during Libraries Week of Soho Radio. Thanks to Sarah Pyke for all her brilliant work on the project and to everyone else who contributed so wonderfully. If you haven’t already, I recommend a visit to www.livinglibraries.uk.
